Why millions of people are still using the tech giant’s platform for social media
I feel that Facebook is always in the news. The tech giant was first conceived in 2004 and still expanding. But even with fierce competition in the social media space, Facebook is here to stay. Here are 5 reasons to keep using Facebook.
1.) 2.80 billion monthly active users
Worldwide, Facebook has 2.80 billion MAUs (or Monthly Active Users) as of February 2021. Even with competition from Google and Snap, Facebook is still bulldozing along. Zuckerberg’s brain child platform is too big to ignore.
2.) 25–34 is most common age demographic
This is great news for online businesses who want to reach this demographic. It’s true that Facebook is not as popular in the 17–24 demographic due to a strong presence in social media by Instagram and Snapchat. But as these platforms are skewing younger, Facebook’s core user base is still using the platform. Facebook for social media has a lot of staying power which is good for business.
3.) Five new profiles are created every second.
This number is staggering. Even with competition from Instagram and Snapchat (have I said this already?) new users are still flooding the social media giant. For digital marketers and influencers, this means that your potential audience on Facebook is growing exponentially.
4.) Facebook has 1.84 billion daily active users
Over 1.84 billion people on average log onto Facebook every day. This means that out of 2.80 billion monthly active users, 1.84 billion are considered daily active users which is incredible. Another reason why Facebook cannot be ignored for digital marketers.
5.) Facebook is the 3rd most visited website
Behind only Google and Youtube, Facebook is third in traffic on the internet. Facebook has a 9% increase year over year in traffic which means as the internet company gets older, it is still attracting new users and page views by the millions.
